On behalf of MMS Global Foundation, warm wishes for the New Year.

As human activity, freedoms, and civilizational demands expand rapidly, inherited religious practices that emphasize conformity no longer serve as the sole moral compass for many. Too often, religion is treated like a family name—passed down unexamined, performed by rote, and followed because it is expected rather than understood. From childhood, many are taught rituals and recitations without being invited to engage with their deeper meaning; questioning is discouraged, and conformity is valorized. The result can be spiritual and intellectual stagnation that distances people from the Qur’an’s broader ethical and humanistic message.

All major faiths long ago shifted from a primarily theological focus to one that emphasizes universal values in response to a globalized, scientific, and rapidly changing world. Muslims too can—and must—reconnect with the Qur’an’s universal guidance, moving inherited legalistic emphases to the margins and reviving reasoned reflection, ethical inquiry, and intellectual openness at the center of religious life.

MMS Global Foundation believes the New Year is a moment to renew that commitment: to encourage thoughtful engagement with faith, to promote dignity and moral leadership grounded in universal ethics, and to support scholarship and education that free spiritual life from unexamined tradition. May this year bring renewal, compassion, and the courage to transform inherited practice into a living, liberating force for humanity.

Happy New Year from all of us at MMS Global Foundation.
